So, What Does it Take to Open a World-Class International School in NJ?

HOBOKEN, N.J. - Aug. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- It takes a lot! From the location, curriculum, architecture and communication; everything that goes into starting a new exclusive independent school is an adventure! Tessa International School has been in the works for about a year now and is getting close to its opening.

Tessa International School will be the only international and bilingual school in Hoboken, New Jersey and the surrounding area. This new school will be offering both Spanish and French immersion tracks to its students. This will allow them to gain language and cultural awareness. In addition to the rigorous curriculum, after school language enrichment programs, such as Mandarin, will be open to both Tessa and outside students.

The vision of Isabelle Bonneau, Founder of Tessa, is to bring the highest international education standards currently met in international schools in Manhattan and the largest international cities worldwide, to northern New Jersey. She says, "My international background has uniquely positioned me to make a difference and have a will to give children this type of education. I've gone through challenges to articulate my message, find time, a location and staff members. I'm honored when parents trust me with their child's education. It makes me want to do my very best to give our students the skills they need to be international world leaders.

Hoboken, a high density area, has been in need of an international preschool for years. Finding a space in this premium urban area wasn't easy. Luckily, Isabelle stumbled upon a lease at the Monroe Center, which is a hub for many different activities for small children. The next step was creating a curriculum made with the best practices in the world. With the help of a top head hunter, Isabelle was able to recruit a uniquely qualified head of school, Robert Mullins, who is passionate about bilingualism and international education.

Bonneau further states, "Having an international preschool in northern New Jersey will bring international standards and bilingual education to families and children at a young age. I envision for our preschool to become a primary school and a highly successful international education model that people will talk about nationwide."

The next step was to find an architect and solid communication techniques to get the word out about the school. The trick was to find an architect that carries the same vision. Isabelle hired, Sasha Gendell, to transform the space into a beautiful world of learning. He understands that putting an international school together is bold, strong and takes time. Finally, a communications plan had to come together for the local community through internet presence, word of mouth, advertising, public relations and signage. Every technique has been well thought out with a specific execution plan to get the word out efficiently.
