The legendary tale of the Apennine Sibyl lives again in Norcia with Italian writer Michele Sanvico

NORCIA, Italy - Aug. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- The Apennine Sibyl: an Italian tale rich in magical shades that is still alive after centuries. A riveting event dedicated to the myth of the Sibyl, once known as "the Sibyl of Norcia". A story that is going to be narrated in Norcia, the Italian town which was the very setting of the illustrious fifteenth-century romance "Guerrino the Wretch".

After decades of forgetfulness, Italian writer Michele Sanvico will bring to Norcia the tale of the Sibyl with the special event "Mount Sibyl - A Secret of Stone" to be staged on Aug, 24th at the Agriturismo "Il Casale nel Parco dei Monti Sibillini" in Norcia.

This is an event of special significance for Norcia, St. Benedict's hometown, a location mostly renowned for its charming setting and availability of tasty, high-quality food, enticing each year thousands of delighted tourists into coming in the region. Yet not all visitors are aware of the old renown of Norcia as a remote and mysterious place, from whose mountain range the legend of the Apennine Sibyl seemed to raise a call attracting a multitude of travellers, explorers and adventurers from all across Europe.

«With the audience, we will retrace the tale of the Sibyl's cave, the gloomy cavern opening its jaws on the peak of Mount Sibyl», said Michele Sanvico, a knowledgeable expert in Italian legends and lore, and a writer of literary fiction and creative nonfiction. «It will be a unique experience that will be later recollected by participants with a sort of bewitched sense of wonder: an astounding travel which will be enjoyed not only by those who have never had the chance to visit the magnificent Sibillini Range in Italy, but also by the people themselves who reside in that remote Italian region».

The session "Mount Sibyl - A Secret of Stone" is a special opportunity to get striken and moved by a tale not currently known to everybody, even though it belongs to an illustrious Italian and European tradition. In addition to that, the presentation is a true premiere for Norcia, a place where the Sibyl's  legend has never been told for years although it is certainly to be considered as a primary element of the local legend and lore in the Sibillini Mountain Range area.
