MENLO PARK, Calif. - Oct. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- "We are thrilled to announce that veteran Silicon Valley patent attorneys Steve Colby and Robert Hayden have joined the team," said Roger Royse, founder of Royse Law Firm. "Steve and Robert bring a well-established patent law practice to the firm, expanding our service offerings and supporting our rapidly growing agtech practice."

Steve and Robert come to Royse Law from the boutique Palo Alto patent firm Peters Verny, LLP and bring a practice in patent prosecution, counseling, licensing and litigation as well as issues relating to ownership of patents and intellectual property. The new patent group includes two staff personnel and will practice in Royse Law Firm's Menlo Park office. "Robert and I are excited about the synergy we see bringing our practices into the Royse Law Firm," said Steve Colby. "We look forward to adding our combined experience to the suite of expertise already present in the firm."

Dr. Steven Colby received his Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he focused on the development and design of scientific instruments. He has over 40 published scientific papers and abstracts and holds several patents. Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Dr. Colby was director of product development for a scientific instrument company. His professional background extends to software and hardware development, website development, manufacturing management, electronics, sensors, measurement devices, control systems, mass spectrometry, chromatography and bioanalysis.

Robert Hayden

Robert Hayden is a patent attorney specializing in medical devices, materials and processes, particularly as they relate to semiconductors, LEDs, and disk drives, as well as clean tech, robotics, agtech, and consumer devices. Robert regularly prepares and prosecutes patent applications for established corporations and start-ups, advises on portfolio development, and prepares opinion letters. Robert holds a B.S. and an M.S., both in Materials Science and Engineering, and worked in start-ups in biomaterials and disk drives before earning a law degree from Santa Clara University. Robert has been a practicing patent attorney since 2000.
