The MicroEnterprise Institute is a six-week training program to help emerging entrepreneurs start new ventures and grow their small businesses. Participants work with a business coach to develop their ideas into a start-up plan. "There's so much you don't know about starting a business," says Carrie Frazee, a 2015 microenterprise graduate. "Doing the feasibility plan for the class really makes you think. It makes you aware of what you really need to start this business and make it successful." The night classes will cover topics ranging from legal aspects to accounting; marketing to insurance. After completion of the class, participants may apply for a microloan collateral guarantee from Goodwill. Through this program, more than 175 businesses were started or grew during the past six years.
