NEW ORLEANS - Aug. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- The American Cancer Society (ACS) New Orleans has honored local marketing and public relations firm HEROfarm, a social mission driven company, with its inaugural Heart and Soul Award for work with the group's preeminent Belles and Beaus Ball. The award is presented to an individual or group that encompasses the mission of the Society through volunteerism and participation in events and mission initiatives.

HEROfarm, which developed the rebranding for the organization's increasingly popular Belles and Beaus Ball held annually at Mardi Gas World, has volunteered its marketing, strategy, and design services over the last five years to help raise awareness and donations to the Society and its premiere event.

Kate Kelley, the Mid-South Division Strategic Director of Distinguished Events for ACS, presented the honor to HEROfarm during the annual Belles and Beaus Announcement Party on July 21 at the Shops at Canal Place. Accepting the award on behalf of the agency was Founder and CEO Reid Stone, Co-Founder and Creative Director Shaun Walker, and Art Director Jason Taix. Longtime ACS volunteer Mary Petikas, who is the Marketing Director at Gifted Healthcare and oversees media outreach and public relations for the Ball, also was honored for her dedication and service.

"HEROfarm and Mary are the true definition of selfless, relentless, and hard-working volunteers who inspire us each time we are with them," Kelley said. "They've helped ensure we have a strong presence in the community and donors know the American Cancer Society New Orleans is saving lives locally."

The New Orleans Belles & Beaus Ball, which celebrates the fight against cancer, is set for Friday, September 23, 2016, at Mardi Gras World and will be hosted by wife-husband team of WVUE-TV Fox 8 anchor Nancy Parker and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Glen Boyd. This year's USO-styled theme developed by HEROfarm, "A Salute Survivors," will feature food and drink from over 40 local establishments, live music by Karma, a live and silent auction, 10 women and 10 men honorees, a touching art installation The Wall of Hope, and more.
