HENLEY-ON-THAMES, U.K. - Aug. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- The Wheelyboat Trust, a registered charity dedicated to providing mobility impaired people with the opportunity and freedom to enjoy boating, is the latest organisation to benefit from working with Marine Insurance broker Insurance Risk & Claims Management (IRCM).

Mark Elcocks, Specialist Risks Executive with IRCM said "We are honoured to be able to work with such an important boating charity and to assist with raising funds to support its work."  Founded in 1984 as the Handicapped Anglers Trust, the Wheelyboat Trust has placed vessels into over 100 locations across the UK and has become the latest organisation to benefit from an introducer arrangement with IRCM.

"IRCM works with many boatbuilders and dealers in providing tailored insurance services to their clients" said Mark who has almost 20 years experience of assisting marine charities with their insurance programs - "We offer our properly registered introducers a bonus-building facility that gives them an additional stream of income."  The Wheelyboat Trust will receive a payment from IRCM for every insurance policy it arranges for a Wheelyboat operator.

Wheelyboat operators also stand to benefit from the arrangement.  Wheelyboats are used for a variety of activities, ranging from pleasure boating and angling to powerboat training and even as workboats.  As an independent boat insurance broker IRCM are able to source the most appropriate cover at competitive prices whatever the use of the vessel.  Additionally, because IRCM specialise in providing marine trade insurances, Wheelyboat operators, whether they are a club, a training organisation, harbour trust or commercial marine business are also able to source comprehensive and competitive cover for their property, contents, liabilities, marine installations and all their other vessels.

As Andy Beadsley, Director of The Wheelyboats Trust explains:   "It is very important for us to be working with a broker who fully understands the role Wheelyboats play in enabling people with mobility issues to take part in waterborne activities. Some insurers equate the combination of disability and water as increased risk, but IRCM recognize that being mobility impaired should not be a barrier to actively participate on the water.  Not only are IRCM's policies tailored to fit the needs of Wheelyboat operators, but they are also incredibly competitive. We are delighted to be working with IRCM who support the fundraising activities of The Wheelyboat Trust and whose policies we can confidently recommend in regards to price and cover provided."

The Wheelyboat Trust has targeted the commercial workboat sector in seeking to boost funds to enable further expansion of its charitable works and recently exhibited its Coulam Wheelyboat V20 at Seawork International.  For further information about the Wheelyboat Trust and its range of vessels go to www.wheelyboats.org

About The Wheelyboat Trust

∙         The Wheelyboat Trust is a registered charity, dedicated to providing mobility impaired people, young and old, with the opportunity and freedom to participate in waterborne activities all over the UK.  Its role is to help and encourage venues open to the public to acquire Wheelyboats for their disabled visitors and to help groups and organisations acquire Wheelyboats for their own use.

∙         The Wheelyboat Trust was founded in 1984 when it was originally called the Handicapped Anglers Trust. The first Wheelyboat built received its official launch from HRH Prince Charles at Fishmongers' Hall in London. In 2004, the charity was renamed The Wheelyboat Trust to reflect its broader aims and the clear need for Wheelyboats beyond the fishing lake for disabled, elderly and infirm, families and community groups for recreation and sporting pursuits.

∙         The Trust has designed 7 different Wheelyboat models since its work began in 1984: Mk I, Mk II, Mk III, Mk IV, Coulam 15, Coulam 16 and Coulam Wheelyboat V20. 174 Wheelyboats have so far been supplied across the UK, Ireland and Denmark.
