ATLANTA - Aug. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- The River is a new play that has been on Broadway as recently as last year, when it starred Tony Award winning actor Hugh Jackman. The River (http://www.facebook.com/theriveratl) asks the thought-provoking question—when we find each other are we trying to recapture someone we once lost?

Directed by Rod Lindsey, the play will debut September 8 and will run September 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 at 8 p.m., with three matinee performances scheduled for September 11, 18 and 25 at 2 p.m.

Atlanta resident Josh Henry splits his time between Los Angeles and Atlanta, working in film, TV, commercials, theatre, print ads and music videos. His acting credits include a guest-star spot in the TV series, The Haves and The Have Nots, as well as roles on Mercy Street, Halt and Catch Fire, Banshee and Drop Dead Diva . He will appear in the upcoming feature film, "The Founder" starring Michael Keaton as McDonald's founder Ray Kroc, and Investigation Discovery's hit show, Swamp Murders.

Henry is also a filmmaker and his award-winning short film, "Poker Face (http://www.pokerfacefilm.com/)," has screened at film festivals around the world over the last year. Learn more about Josh at JoshHenry.com.

Savannah Rose Scaffe has studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art as well as Atlanta's Highwire Comedy co. She can be seen performing with her improve troupe, Bell Huggers, at their weekly show, "Improve R&D," and singing in her band, Monday Night Sleepover.

Ashlyn Moore is making her Atlanta stage debut after spending time working and studying in New York City. Also a dancer, Moore disciplined as a pre-professional dancer for 15 years before shifting focus to acting. She can be seen in upcoming feature films I'm Not Ashamed, Caesar! and Bloodloss.

7 Stages Theatre, located at 1105 Euclid Avenue in Atlanta, has been endorsed by the Drama League of New York as one of 50 excellent theaters nationwide.

The River opens on a moonless night in August, when a man brings his new girlfriend to the remote family cabin where he has fly-fished since he was a boy. She's not the first woman he has brought there or, indeed, will she be the last.
