Local Award-Winning Author Publishes New Book

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. - Aug. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Local author and filmmaker Dianne Gardner's (D.L. Gardner) Cassandra's Castle will be released August 31 in both eBook and print formats. The novel is being adapted into a TV series and will be filmed on the Kitsap Peninsula. The story adaption has already won numerous awards in the Indie Film festival circuit including a trophy for the Pilot Script for TV from the Indie Gathering Film Festival in Ohio, as well as a Recognition Award from the Accolade Global International Film Festival. The teaser was screened at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood this June during Indie Night's Film Festival.

The story is an historical fantasy about a teenager from Seattle who time-travels through a magical portal and lands in the middle of a rebellion. Coerced by the insurgents, she joins forces against the king only to discover her love for the prince. Cassandra's Castle is inspired by the 1908 Portuguese rebellion.

The book has been endorsed by legendary actor Robert Miano and actress Karolyn "ZuZu" Grimes from It's a Wonderful Life.
