Sixth Annual Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Run - Duluth funds research, awareness and support

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Aug. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- WHAT: The Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Run is a family-friendly event open to walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. Online registration makes it easy to recruit team members and meet fundraising goals.

Individuals or groups can attend, volunteer, purchase a course tribute sign to honor or memorialize a loved one with lupus, or donate refreshments for the post-event program, items for the silent auction, or participant prizes.

WHO: The Lupus Foundation of Minnesota and hundreds of those affected by lupus and their supporters.

This annual fall favorite will be emceed by KFAN FM 100.3's Cory Cove of The Power Trip Morning Show (92.1 FM local affiliate).

Meet 2016 Lupus Ambassadors Trish Solliday, Meghan Trimble, and Katie Wilson as they share their lupus stories.

WHY: The Lupus Foundation of Minnesota (LFM) is an independent, nonprofit, charitable organization among only a handful of organizations dedicated to providing services to those whose lives are impacted by lupus, a chronic, autoimmune disease. In 2016, LFM celebrates its 40th anniversary of funding lupus research, providing education, support and referrals for people living with lupus, and bringing greater public awareness of the disease. Funds raised support lupus research, direct support of those living with lupus and their families throughout Minnesota and beyond, as well as education and awareness initiatives.
