ATLANTA - Aug. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- HomeAid Atlanta and Sherwin-Williams' Pro Painter Institute Training Program partnered once again to help an Atlanta organization serving homeless women and children.  From July 20 to July 27, the special HomeAid Care Day event took place at My Sister's House, Atlanta Mission's shelter for women and children.

Work completed by the painters-in-training included minor repairs to interior walls and much needed painting throughout My Sister's House.

HomeAid and Sherwin Williams worked together earlier this year to assist Solomon's Temple, another Atlanta service provider supporting women and children.  HomeAid is grateful for the continued partnership with Sherwin-Williams and to all painters-in-training for their hard work over the course of this extended Care Day at My Sister's House.

HomeAid Atlanta has supported Atlanta Mission in the past through a housing project in 2004, kitchen renovation in 2012, and donations of diapers and baby supplies from the annual Essentials Drive for many years.  Don Wilkinson, Atlanta Mission's Manager of Partnership Services said, "We are grateful that HomeAid continues to share its resources, talents and gifts as it is this type of donation that allows for our funding to go directly to the programming for residents, which is what's most important. The HomeAid Care Day couldn't have come at a better time for us, and the work of this group has saved us around $12,000 (or more) in retail costs." HomeAid is proud to support My Sister's House's mission to help homeless women and children.

HomeAid Atlanta, founded in 2001, is a nonprofit organization that builds new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach.  HomeAid works in partnership with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, as well as community building industry organizations, to assist people experiencing temporarily homelessness.  To date, HomeAid Atlanta has completed over 50 housing, remodel and care day projects at locations that serve victims of domestic violence, teen mothers, abused and abandoned children, and more.  Learn more at http://www.homeaidatlanta.org.
