Chris J. Malicki Appointed Risk Control Advisor at Cavignac & Associates

SAN DIEGO - Aug. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- Chris J. Malicki, CHST, OHST, has been appointed to risk control advisor for Cavignac & Associates, announced Jeffrey W. Cavignac, CPCU, RPLU, CRIS, principal and founder of the San Diego-based risk management and insurance brokerage firm.

         Malicki brings to Cavignac & Associates more than 20 years of construction-related safety experience as well as expertise as a general industry workplace safety consultant.  He is charged with evaluating clients' operations and developing effective risk and safety management programs for each.  His primary focus is on identifying risks to workers and helping management implement corrective action.

         Most recently, Malicki served as a safety manager for the SMART Safety Group in San Diego, where he was employed for approximately four years. There he developed, implemented and maintained safety and risk management systems for construction-related organizations and the general business community.  Previous career experience includes having served as a training director for Pacific Safety Center, where he worked for nearly four years.

         His construction industry knowledge stems from having been principal of Southwest Civil Contracting in San Marcos and, before that, director of operations for Merritt Construction, also in San Marcos, where he was employed for four years.  As an "A" licensed general contractor, he oversaw all aspects of workplace safety on projects including highway and street improvements, site infrastructure, pipeline, sewer, water, storm drain and landfill construction.

         Malicki is certified as an Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) outreach instructor.  He holds accreditations as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST).  He is president of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), San Diego Chapter.American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), San Diego Chapter.          Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minn., Malicki currently resides in the San Diego community of Rancho Penasquitos with his wife, Cheena, and 11-year-old-son, Lance.
