Austin Author Patrick Kelly Releases Third Joe Robbins Thriller, Hill Country Siren

AUSTIN, Texas - Aug. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- Author and financial expert, Patrick Kelly, announces the release of his crime novel, Hill Country Siren (ISBN 9780991103355), the third book in the financial thriller series featuring Austin sleuth, Joe Robbins.  Hill Country Siren follows the second novel in the series, Hill Country Rage (ISBN 9780991103331), along with Kelly's critically-acclaimed first Joe Robbins novel, Hill Country Greed (ISBN 9780991103317).

When security guard Adrian Williams and Austin homicide lieutenant Rico Carrillo ask freelance CFO Joe Robbins to investigate a potential fraud case for country rock legend, Sophie Tyler, Joe jumps at the chance to work with one of his favorite Austin-born singers. Joe soon discovers that the path to helping Sophie is lined with enigmatic characters, including her actor ex-boyfriend, who convinced her to make a suspicious investment, her conniving manager, her hedonistic talent agent, her possessive assistant, and her quirky accountant. Any of these individuals would have benefitted from stealing Sophie's money, but which one is guilty? As Joe pursues the mystery, he is drawn into Sophie's world of stardom and enchantment, to the dismay of his ex-wife, Rose, and his daughters, Chandler and Callie. Set in Austin, Texas, Hill Country Siren sends Joe on a harrowing journey through the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles, where he navigates the world of fake software start-ups and phony movie deals, fights hand-to-hand with murderous assailants, and ferrets out fraud schemes that weave a trail from Beverly Hills to Mexico.

"I like to set my stories in Austin, Texas, because it's a really cool place with lots of different characters and an endless supply of fascinating settings," said Kelly. Patrick Kelly holds a BA in software engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA in finance from Carnegie Mellon University. He served as Chief Financial Officer for six different companies before beginning his career as an author of the Joe Robbins Financial Thriller series.
