"Simple Southend Sonnets and Some" is a back seat view of life put to rhyme in an off-the-wall way, or if one is "posh", an anthology of modern observations, simply life.  It is light-hearted, humorous, ironic and dark (some from personal experience), sharing an insight into characters and individuals, capturing a slice of life in a popular seaside town. Inspiration, that comes from residing around the Thames Estuary, especially Southend-on-Sea. About those varied souls, who come and go on the tide. Written in a way that is original, straightforward, and at times "thought provoking"! Also, a comical aspect is thrown into the mix. And as they say in old "SAHFEND" You have only got one life, live it!

         The Verdict

The Jury decided that she did do wrong, her character had been demolished

She had been charged with being "Dishonest"!

Sentence passed, Case over, finished, done;

It was a blip, a temporary twist

A mistake, put it out of mind's eye, don't look back or resort to cry

After a lifetime of being good,

She had totally been "Misunderstood"!

The Sentence

Community service was handed out, she could not get out of it

Had to do it and that's all there is to it!
