MALVERN, Pa. - Aug. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- Jennifer and Craig Vanderslice are excited to bring attention to the need for pitbull rescue and awareness by making their pitbull Macha a contestant in the 2016 Brandywine Valley SPCA Picture Pawfect Pet Photo Contest. The Vanderslice's adopted Macha in June 2014 after seeing her in the SPCA's newsletter. Macha had been a stray who had been hit by a car and brought to the SPCA where she had her left rear leg amputated due to her injuries.

"We're hoping to bring attention to the understanding, awareness and need for the rescue of pitbulls by winning this contest and getting Macha on the cover of the calendar next year", says Jennifer Vanderslice.

Macha lives with her owners in Malvern, PA with 3 cats, 5 chickens and two 'puppy brothers'.

Pet owners were encouraged enter the contest by submitting a photo of their dog or cat and make a $10 donation to the Brandywine Valley SPCA by July 31, 2016. Voting for the contest began kony on August 1, 2016 and will continue through August 15, 2016 11:59 p.m. (et). The dog or cat with the most votes and had been adopted from the Brandywine Valley SPCA will become the cover model for 2017 Brandywine SPCA calendar and get a professional photo shoot. Runners up in 2nd to 13th place will become "models of the month" for one of the 2017 Calendar pages and also get a professional photo shoot.

To help Macha win, supporters are asked to make a donation on her designated webpage. All donations/votes for Macha go to the Brandywine Valley SPCA - Pennsylvania's first a no kill, open admission shelter!
