Goodwill Welcomes Speer to Board of Directors

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Aug. 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. (www.goodwillswfl.org) is pleased to announce that Catherine Speer recently joined the organization's volunteer Board of Directors.

Speer is a recognized leader and civil servant specializing in curriculum development and training, including previous experiences with the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Army Family Programs.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from New York's Dominican College. She also earned a master's degree in Business Administration from Boston University and additional training and leadership certifications from various organizations.

In addition to Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Speer currently serves on the West Point Society of Naples board of directors and the Association for Christian Conferences Teaching and Service board of directors. She has been the recipient of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Outstanding Public Service Award and a Meritorious Civilian Service Award.

She is enthusiastic about her new role with one of Southwest Florida's largest and most recognized nonprofits.

"Goodwill's mission is to help people with disabilities live as independently as possible, which lines up perfectly with my professional goals. I am passionate about people reaching their full potential in life," Speer said about becoming a Goodwill board member.
