Ruaha River Power Company Announces Corporate Name Change to Ruaha Energy Company Limited

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania - Aug. 1, 2016 - PRLog -- Ruaha River Power Company Limited announced today that the Company has changed its name to "Ruaha Energy." The name change reflects the Company's expanding renewable energy strategy which, in addition to planned run-of-river hydropower facilities, now also includes solar photovoltaic and biomass projects.

The Company's President, Pete Hemingway, remarked, "The new name – Ruaha Energy – emphasizes our expanding renewable energy portfolio, which is being launched to deliver clean, sustainable electricity to villages and larger rural communities in Tanzania's underserved rural markets."

CEO John Tate continued, "When formed in late 2013, the Company focused primarily on hydropower projects near the Ruaha River. After launching several hybrid renewable energy projects combining solar photovoltaic and biomass technologies, changing the name more clearly aligns the brand with this new mix of energy solutions."
