PINE GROVE, Pa. - July 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Solar Innovations® Architectural Glazing Systems launched the 5th fundraiser since the start of Solar Cares, a campaign dedicated to giving back to the surrounding community. In conjunction with the Schuylkill United Way, Solar is raising money to "Stuff the Bus" and purchase school supplies for students in Schuylkill County.

Office team members can dress casually for the month with a donation of $25 or more. Once the month is complete, Solar Innovations® will match a percentage of the donations, depending on the final total raised.

The Schuylkill United Way holds their annual Stuff the Bus supply drive starting every July. Using monetary donations, the United Way purchases and stuffs backpacks with school supplies that are delivered to their partner agencies who serve children. The remaining backpacks are then offered to the greater community. During their 2015 drive over 1,200 backpacks were donated to children in need. Every backpack is stuffed with essential school supplies, including pens, pencils, eraser, binders, folders, notebooks, rulers, crayons, and markers.

The Solar Cares campaign launched in October of 2015, for the inaugural fundraiser, team members raised over $1,700 for the Breast Cancer Research Fund at the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute in Hershey, PA. In December 2015 the team participated in the Adopt-a-Family program, providing presents for a local family with five children ages 1 to 12. Gifts from the family's wish list were purchased by individual team members in addition to the $1,700 raised by the team. This money was used to purchase additional toys, food, and various other items for the family. Of this amount, $500 was donated to the Salvation Army Corporation in Pottsville, PA. Solar Cares continued in February 2016 when Solar Innovations® donated over $1,500 worth of food to the Williams Valley and Pine Grove area food pantries. Solar's most recent campaign benefited the animals at the Hillside SPCA, the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, and the Lebanon County Human Society, where team members donated money and pet supplies.
