ACEC/MA Announces Kleinfelder as 2016 winner of Silver Engineering Excellence Award

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - July 29, 2016 - PRLog -- The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named Kleinfelder as a winner of their 2016 Silver Engineering Excellence Award for work on the Western Avenue Infrastructure Improvements Project in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The 2016 Engineering Excellence Awards were announced at the recent ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala with emcees MA State Senator Karen Spilka and MA Secretary of Transportation Stephanie Pollack.

Kleinfelder, with offices in Cambridge and Framingham, Massachusetts was retained by the City of Cambridge to implement integration of surface and subsurface urban infrastructure on Western Avenue for maximum environmental, transportation and neighborhood benefits.  The end product resulted in a streetscape that has revitalized the neighborhood while meeting the City's subsurface objectives.

"The winning projects exemplify ingenuity and professionalism and represent the breadth of engineering's contribution to our everyday lives," said ACEC/MA President David Vivilecchia. "They are outstanding examples of how engineers connect communities, provide safe and reliable water and energy, and make our buildings safe and efficient.
