Follow on Google News | Diversity in Tech MATTERS For BLACK LIVESHow a Community Can Create Opportunities Where There Are None
Natasha Reid, Chief Creative Officer, DDN Productions, Inc. and Event Manager for The 2016 New York Black Expo, reached out to Mr. Street to create a dynamic conversation that pushes the envelope of what's possible. "I realized the black community has everything it needs to break through the invisible glass ceiling in technology. What is missing is a real action based conversation on what to do next. In New York, the black community is a truly diverse one. Blacks are from America and you have blacks from Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America. My family is from Trinidad and Tobago, and there, the average person engages with the internet via their mobile device, not a desktop. I choose to work with The Producer of The 2016 New York Black Expo so people of all races could come out, discover what's being asked for when the term 'diversity' is mentioned, what HR teams are looking for, and how you can stand out from other applicants. So, I was super happy Mike accepted my invitation to moderate and create this panel discussion with us. His interview with Endgaget is what sparked the question for me. Best birthday gift so far especially since July 30th is my birthday!" This, the first technology related event DDN Productions will be producing, happens Saturday, July 30th at The Sheraton Hotel, Times Square, 811 Seventh Avenue and 53rd Street in Times Square, doors open at 10 AM. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 or online for 2 for $25, here http://www.eventbrite.com/ This event is the first in a series of four discussions about culture, diversity and technology coming together to shape a new future.
