Blues Brews N BBQs will benefit local nonprofits PRISM and Twin Cities Habitat for a fifth year

Concert and fun events for the entire family - Saturday, August 6

PLYMOUTH, Minn. - July 28, 2016 - PRLog -- On Saturday, August 6, Mount Olivet's BLUES BREWS N BBQs (BBNBBQs) music fest will help build community alongside PRISM and Twin Cities Habitat  for Humanity for a fifth year. What started as a fun idea where music, beer, and barbeque could benefit local nonprofits has now grown to be the summer showcase in Mount Olivet's Higher Grounds music series. Having entertained over 4,300 music lovers, and drawing people from South Dakota and Wisconsin, this event continues to be nearly entirely volunteer run.

Positive response from the community and support of financial sponsors Motivation, Thrivent Financials' Nick Larson, and State Farm's Kyle Vitense has helped event organizers distribute $56,000 in just four years. These funds go to event beneficiaries, PRISM, and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity; two organizations committed to building community in the metro area. Their respective mission and vision encourage communities to come together to create stability for neighbors in need; from building affordable homes, donating food or furniture, volunteering with students, to advocating on behalf of those without a voice.

To celebrate five years of partnership with these organizations, BBNBBQs organizers are bringing in two blues powerhouses form Wisconsin. The Jimmys headline the night with a high energy, seven piece blues ensemble, featuring a show stopping three-piece horn section. Reverend Raven and the Chain Smokin' Altar Boys are Milwaukee favorites, playing Chicago-style blues, fostered by Reverend Raven's South Side Chicago roots. Twin Cities favorite Lisa Wenger, and blues-rocker Cole Allen, will round out the evening.

Minnesota breweries Castle Danger, Insight, Third Street, and Sociable Cider Werks will be on tap. Mr. Pig Stuff, out of Shakopee, will serve pulled pork, spare ribs, chicken wings, brats, and veggie skewers.

Family friendly, with children 10 and under admitted free. Face painting, roaming magician, Home Depot Kid's Workshop, and balloon animals will be available from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The first ever, BBNBBQs Walk, Roll or Stroll 2K/5K will kick-off at 3:15pm, where families can enjoy a stroll through neighboring French Regional Park. Registering in advance includes admission to the event, commemorative beer glass, and a free beer or beverage for $20.

BLUES BREWS N BBQs is set for Saturday, August 6, rain or shine. Gates open from 3:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with music starting at 4:00 p.m.  Special room rates available at Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West, one mile from the venue.  Event hosted by Mount Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth, located at 12235 Old Rockford Road, Plymouth, MN 55441.

Early bird tickets are available for $12, and increase to $18 on August 6. Get your tickets at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/blues-brews-n-bbqs-tickets-2....
