NEW DELHI - July 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Anil Ambani led Reliance Group recently hired Juergen Hase as the new CEO of its Internet of Things (IoT) business, where he will now be reporting to group Managing Director Amitabh Jhunjhunwala. Before this, Hase worked as an IoT/M2M (machine to machine) director at the group level at Ooredoo, a telco in Qatar.

Graduated from Technical University, Germany with majors in telecommunications, Juergen is one of the notable names in the industry, allied with various global M2M associations. With experience of 25 years in the telecommunication industry, Hase has also worked with Deutsche Telekom (DT) as Vice President for over a decade.

Last year, Reliance Group had announced an IoT partnership with Jasper Technologies, which was canned and later taken over by Cisco Systems Inc. Now Reliance's idea is to leverage IoT across verticals such as as telecom, power and utilities, transportation and financial services to establish a powerful business. Reliance Energy has devised a way by working on smart grid management in order to check transmission and distribution losses and lower energy bills. Another initiative is by Reliance's insurance group which is activating vehicle telematics to access the risk profile of vehicle insurance customers.

One of the spokesperson from Reliance said, "Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for Remote Healthcare and Assisted Living and these (IoT pilot projects on healthcare, vehicle insurance, power management) are intended to be scaled up and made available for external customers under Juergen's leadership."

IoT industry is the need for tomorrow, and the initiative taken by Reliance Group shows its compliance with the transforming world and its increasing change and demand. With every leading company building a dedicated team for IoT, the industry is experiencing maximum investments in smart homes, smart watches and electronics, industrial IoT, smart vehicles, and more. The concept of smart city is promoted largely by the government, and plans have been laid out for the next decade.
