POINT PLEASANT, N.J. - July 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Shore Builders Association's newest council, Professional Women in Building of the Garden State, along with the help of member company Design Floors and Interiors, recently partnered with the Monmouth County SPCA's Pet Pantry Project to collect donations during the association's Annual BBQ on the Beach event, which was held at Martell's Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant Beach.  Attendees were asked to bring a donation of pet food, toys, or supplies to help support people in Monmouth County and the surrounding areas who want to keep their beloved pets at home, rather than surrendering them to a shelter due to economic hardships. These families are oftentimes forced to choose between feeding and caring for their pets and paying household bills or purchasing human food. The SPCA believes that, with strong support structure, and access to free or affordable food and supplies, these families will be less likely to surrender their pet to a shelter when they find themselves facing that hardship. According to the President of the PWB of the Garden State, Giovanna Pergola, "Our mission as a council is not only to help other members of our association through education, professional development, and networking opportunities, but to also participate in community outreach programs and partnerships that will help improve the lives of the people living in the communities we serve." Pergola continues, Marlen Kroll of Design Floors and Interiors, who is passionate about this cause, and the Monmouth County SPCA were the perfect partners for this hugely successful collection drive based on the amount of food and supplies our generous members donated."

The Pet Pantry Project accepts donations of dry dog and cat food, wet dog and cat food, cat litter, and supplies like leashes, litter scoops, and toys.
