LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - July 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Zodiac Arresting Systems America (ZASA) is proud to announce the availability of its industry-leading Runway Condition Assessment Matrix (RCAM) training. This announcement coincides with the official web site launch as the www.rcamtraining.com site is now live. Visitors are able to get additional information and pricing schedules, as well as enroll and commence the training in a timely fashion.

The first entity to offer training that addresses the FAA's Oct. 1st implementation, Zodiac Arresting Systems' RCAM Training Program is an interactive e-training program that consists of general knowledge and duty specific modules that detail runway condition reporting and assessment methodologies from the Takeoff and Landing Performance Assessment (TALPA) Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC) and current FAA guidance on the use of the RCAM.

The RCAM provides a common language that ties together manufacturers' landing and takeoff performance calculations, the airport's abilities to report runway conditions, and an aircrew's ability to make assessments of landing capabilities while in flight. The RCAM is the result of validation conducted by the FAA at the recommendation of the TALPA ARC in 2009. Subsequent review by industry representatives instrumental in the development of the RCAM, along with the FAA, airport operators, and air carrier representatives, resulted in the recommendation that the FAA implement the RCAM and its processes into aviation operations.

ZASA's RCAM Training Program is formatted and produced using the latest e-learning methods from a proven supplier of government and private industry training, Avatar Partners, Inc. The training program is available on-line at www.rcamtraining.com via a partnership with SSi, Inc. (Safety and Security Instruction), a leading provider of safety and security training to the industry.

ZASA utilized subject matter experts who played key roles in the ARC. Jerry Ostronic led the ARC for the FAA. Captain John Gadzinski served as an ARC member within the Part 121 working group. These experts coordinated the course content development with another ARC member from the airport community, winter weather operations expert Paul Sichko.

The RCAM will affect every aspect of aviation from airport operation, pilot decision making, ATC considerations, dispatch planning, aircraft performance engineering, and safety reporting. Through use of ZASA's RCAM Training Program, a shared mental model will be created to ensure success and safe operation among all industry stakeholders - airports airlines, pilots, and controllers.
