BIMTECH BBSR Inaugurates Centre for Innovation & Business Incubation for Its PGDM/MBA Students

BHUBANESWAR, India - July 22, 2016 - PRLog -- It's a new attempt from BIMTECH to enhance business capabilities of its students! Birla Institute of Management Technology has inaugurated Centre for Innovation & Business Incubation at its Bhubaneswar campus for MBA and PGDM students.

BIMTECH has come up with a New Idea for Management Students

This business school always tries to design its training program for management students in an innovative way so that every time they find something new in their academic pursuits. This helps the students acquire knowledge about the changes taking place in the real modern business world. They also learn different ways of handling new problems and finding solutions to them in this dynamic economic environment.

Recently, it has established a Centre for Innovation & Business Incubation or CIBI in its Bhubaneswar campus for the management students (PGDM & MBA). The prime objective of this centre is to encourage management students to take up entrepreneurial ventures or innovative business ideas. BIMTECH always motivates its students for new works and this attempt is a sheer example of it.

The Projects under CIBI

Initially, CIBI has started with only two projects –

§  PROJECT 1: AGRIPRENEURSHIP PROJECT

§  PROJECT 2: B-CAFÉ

èProject 1 is an action research project based on the theory – 'Agriculture can be a profitable business.' Four teams are formed to carry out this project. Each team has a faculty member, a staff mentor and 5to 6 students. They were engaged to cultivate a waste plot of land and grow varied types of vegetables like cauliflower, corn, tomato, potato, brinjal, peas, radish and so on.

The team had to first prepare the land for cultivation with organic manure. After much effort, they have received their fruit of action – they had their first round of harvest. It is a great enthusiasm for everyone in the team!

èProject 2 was inaugurated on 16^th December 2015 and it is still running successfully. 5 PGDM students, who aim to become entrepreneurs, formed a group to conduct B-café project. BIMTECH has made its students capable of applying innovative techniques to make the business profitable and viable. To their great astonishment, the sale has tripled in only 2 and ½ month.

These are only two projects. BIMTECH looks forward to initiate more such projects to reveal and develop entrepreneur quality and business skills of students.
