TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – LaTanya White, award-winning global entrepreneurial expert, is launching a weekend boot camp for minority business owners titled, "The Weekend Warrior Series." The series is a component of White's Open Book Innovation Institute, an organization committed to granting African-American and Latino business owners the access, knowledge and resources needed to level the entrepreneurial playing field.

The Weekend Warrior Series will create networking, learning and sales opportunities for minority entrepreneurs in the Big Bend Area. The event will launch on July 28-30 beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. on Saturday. The event will be held at Domi Station, located at 914 Railroad Avenue.

The weekend will kickoff on Thursday evening with a special networking session, and on Friday evening, White will host business development workshops. On Saturday morning, an expo will be held for business owners to sell their products and services with real-time coaching on how to maximize their sales.

Proceeds from the event will be used to issue grants that provides access to training and development and infrastructure to African-American and Latino business owners.

"While there are several small business resources in the Tallahassee ecosystem, somehow minority entrepreneurs specifically people of color, in the ideation and stage 1 aspects of business startup is underserved," said LaTanya White, about her vision behind the series.
