Hilton Washington Dulles Team Joins Virginia's Adopt-A-Highway Program to Maintain Nearby

DULLES, Va. - July 21, 2016 - PRLog -- Hilton Washington Dulles Airport is proud to announce that their team has elected to participate in Virginia's Adopt-A-Highway program, and will be maintaining a 2 mile stretch of road near the hotel. The hotel's volunteers have committed to a minimum of 3 cleanups per year for a 3 year period.  The decision to volunteer locally was rooted in the employees' pride in the neighborhood and wanting guests and staff to be able to appreciate their efforts to maintain the beauty of the community.

Community service is a key part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts' Blue Energy initiative, with the goals of creating opportunities, strengthening communities and preserving the environment. The Hotel's first cleanup will take place in August.  The Adopt-a-Highway program provides an opportunity for families, businesses or civic groups to clean up litter. Participants will be recognized for their efforts with a sign after the completion of the first 2 clean ups.

Each year, nearly 17,000 Adopt-a-Highway volunteers collect more than 25,000 bags of waste along Virginia's highways, and it is estimated that this program saves over $1.5 million that would have otherwise gone to clean up Virginia's roads.
