Follow on Google News | Jeurgen Hase unveiled as face of Reliance Group's IoT wingBy: Reliance Group With undoubtable knowledge about IoT, Hase has joined from Ooredoo, a telecommunication company in Qatar, where he was the director of IoT and M2M (machine to machine) communications at group level. He will be directly reporting to managing director Amitabh Jhunjhunwala. Juergen has enjoyed a wondrous time in the telecom sector, spending 25 years at some of the best companies. He was the vice president at Deutsche Telekom (DT) for more than 10 years. He majored in telecommunications while completing graduation from Technical University, Germany. Hase has been a part of M2M gatherings around the world. A futuristic concept, rapid development has put IoT in front of us earlier than expected. Reliance Group wants to lead the revolution in India like it does in other industries like telecom, power and utilities, transportation and financial services. Its subsidiary RCOM joined hands with Jasper Technologies (later merged into Cisco Systems Inc.) to work on IoT. Reliance Energy used the concept for smart grid management to curb transmission and distribution losses and hence energy bills. On the same tune, Reliance General Insurance also uses IoT while assessing the risks involved with customer's vehicle. The government is also playing its part to be a part of the IoT boom and smart cities have been announced. Objects such as smart phones, watches, TV, have already become regular objects at many homes across the nation.
