SAN JOSE, Calif. - July 20, 2016 - PRLog -- By Hubert Rampersad, Ph.D., Innovation University of Silicon Valley

The Innovation University of Silicon Valley (IUSV) in San Jose has launched the Center of Excellence in Design Thinking, based on its unique human centric and customer centric design thinking approach that is authentic, holistic and focused on unleashing its full potential.  Design thinking entails an iterative process of observation, ideation, rapid prototyping and testing, that is related to the emotional responses of people.

Design is all about making the intent close to being real. There is abundance of unintentional to go around all over the place. When you design, something new is heralded into the world with purpose. So positioning of the design elements in new age thinking and developmental work without purpose makes no sense. When we talk about unleashing the power of design thinking, we actually convey the waking up of design instincts and methods in business executives and organizations all around us, especially the one we traditionally don't work with.

We believe that design thinking is a remarkably under used tool for achieving strategic business needs/initiatives that are increasingly driven by the urge or need for innovation. The more design thinking is used to innovate and solve problems across many professions, the more design itself would be brought vtjrr into meaningful conversations and decisions that will shape our collective future in the business world.

It is high time that we document our acceptance of the gap that exists between business and design as we have seen for generations that there have been calls for designers to become more conversant and relevant in their ideas and language of business.
