"At GITC, we welcome everyone to experience and become part of this musical mission. Musically inspired volunteers are welcome to help out with the program in a variety of ways. Our local focus here is inclusion and collaboration. We are so grateful to our sponsors for supporting these and so many other GITC programs for teachers," explains Jessica Baron, founder and executive director of GITC. Baron will be leading the Beginner Plus/Strummer 1 (open tuning) training along with Dan Decker, 2015 Teacher of the Year and GITC faculty instructor, and the Strummer 2/ Songleader (standard tuning). The guitars to be used by these San Diego teachers were contributed by C.F. Martin&Co., Godin Guitars, Oriolo Guitars and Luna Guitars. Goldfish Guitars and Kala Brand Music contributed the ukuleles which are used by the teachers. GITC welcomes visitors to experience the work in action and volunteers with musical experience to assist in classrooms.
