MIAMI - July 19, 2016 - PRLog -- In the midst of their worst days of violence and loss in more than a decade, we are proud to announce the support of the largest police fraternity in Miami-Dade County for Rosy Palomino, candidate for State Representative, District 112, representing East Miami-Dade County.

The Dade County PBA is made up of more than 6,500 police and correctional officers working for Miami-Dade County and more than 40 other agencies.

Dade County PBA Presdient John Rivera stated in their endorsement, "We feel that you will be one of the very best [representatives], and we wish you a successful campaign."

Rosy Palomino responded to the endorsement with words of encouragement for police officers and first responders, "It the past weeks when police officers have been the target of assassination, we are reminded of how fragile our public safety truly is." Palomino added, "As an educator of nearly 2 decades, I know that being at service to the public is a tough job with often little appreciation. I hope to give our public servants who put their lives on the line a voice in Tallahassee."

About Rosy Palomino:

Palomino is a veteran educator and small business owner. She is the president of Tropical Nostalgia Inc. which offers Miami After Dark wines, luxury gifting and locally-branded confections. She has been teaching at Citrus Grove Elementary School in Little Havana for 18 years receiving numerous accolades for her success in the classroom and in creating community partnerships. She participates in a number of neighborhood organizations, including as President of the Douglas Park Neighborhood Association which organizes community involvement in the remediation of Douglas Park.

About State House District 112:

District 112 has a mostly Hispanic demographic, representing the city of Miami, the city of Coral Gables and the village of Key Biscayne. The city of Miami represents over 75% of the District 112 electorate. Representative Jose Javier Rodriguez, the current two-term Democrat, is vacating the seat in order to run for the State Senate.
