a Sleepaway Camp for Adult A Cappella Enthusiasts

Pitch Perfect Inspired Weekend is the Ultimate Getaway for 21+ Singing Fanatics

Camp Vocaholics, a 21 and over A Cappella Camp, will open its gates from October 14-16 of 2016 at Camp Champions in Marble Falls, TX. The two-day camp will immerse campers into a Pitch Perfect style competition with the added adventure of skiing, tubing, zip lining, water slides, the blob, archery, canoeing, and other camp favorites.  Campers will also enjoy three gourmet meals a day such as pit-roasted pork and local seasonal vegetables, an open bar, and memories of a lifetime.

Camp Vocaholics is the brainchild of University of Texas (UT) Students freshmen, Jonathan McClanahan and Rebecca Chen, and sophomores, Kajal Dayal and Collin Hartman. They participated in a Shark Tank style competition where they pitched the idea for Camp Vocaholics to judges and a potential investors. . Little did they know this competition would launch them into the exciting, challenging world of entrepreneurship.

"The rise of a cappella in TV shows like Glee and box office hits like Pitch Perfect prove a cappella is culturally cool again. We thought it would be awesome to bring singers together at a sleepaway camp with an open bar, great food, and beautiful setting," said founder John McClanahan, well known at UT for his deep voice and his role in UT's premier men's a cappella group, the Texas Songhorns.

In addition to scheduled activities, campers can hang out with their new friends, harmonize the classics and have a beer or two (or more, who's judging?). For the early birds and those who want to get a little more in touch with nature, a calisthenics class will be available in the mornings as well as nature walks. Sports and merit badges are a part of the experience with tennis, swimming, basketball, volleyball and much more. To cap it all off, the aca-showdown on the final night of camp gives each cabin a chance to show how aca-awesome they are!
