Each student will receive $600 annually to assist the students with the payment of any school expenses, including books, uniforms, transportation and lunch, provided they continue to demonstrate strong academic progress and extra-curricular leadership skills. "We are very proud of Gavaska and Tiffany's accomplishments," When asked what they would like to be doing after high school, both Gordon and Peart have hopes of continuing their education. Gordon would like to become a doctor or even a professional Cricket player. Peart plans to go to university to further her studies and graduate with her bachelor's and master's degrees. In the future, Peart would like to become a teacher in hopes of encouraging children, like herself, to become better versions of themselves and to take their educations more seriously. In addition to the scholarship program, which is now in its fourth year, the Lynne Mitchell Foundation directly assists students at Seaview Primary School gain access to the resources they need to succeed in school and in life. Additional programs include a school transportation program, a school lunch and breakfast program for the students, a back pack drive that awards brand new back packs filled with school supplies to every student in the school at the beginning of the school year, and funds to aid in the renovations of the 56-year-old one-room schoolhouse for students in grades 1 through 6. The non-profit plans on raising enough funds to build the students a brand new school with the latest technology and an environment that encourages learning. "It's heart-wrenching to see the conditions in which these students have to try to learn, and our goal is to show them that there are people who care about their lives and their future," says Marlene Gordon. "We aim to build a brand new school facility for these students, with real classrooms, a computer lab, school library and cafeteria."
