Sterlite Copper Celebrates World Youth Skills Day

THOOTHUKKUDI, India - July 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Sterlite Copper celebrated World Youth Skills Day in Tamira Muthukkal Skill Training Centre, Thoothukudi on 15.07.2016 with the theme, 'Development to Improve Youth Employment'.

Sterlite Copper is running the Tamira Muthukkal Skill Training Centre since 2014 for supporting the youth to achieve a sustainable development in the competitive environment through the effective training and skill development. 105 youths were trained under the two months vocational training courses, i.e., Tally, Electrician and Sewing Machine Operation, out of which 70 students received employment through campus placement drive.

As part of "World Youth Skills Day" celebration, Competitions were conducted for the youth in Essay Writing, Elocution and Quiz. The youth from electrician trade demonstrated working models to conserve water and energy.

The guests Mr D Nagendran, District Employment Officer, Thoothukudi and Mr Satyapriya, Head Legal, Sterlite Copper distributed certificates and prizes to the youth in the presence of Dr Kailasam, Chief Medical Officer and Head CSR, Sterlite Copper.
