Liberia opens new chapter as 163rd country to join the World Trade Organization (WTO)

MONROVIA, Liberia - July 14, 2016 - PRLog -- Thursday, 14th July 2016 promises to be one of those unforgettable days in Liberia's history. It is a day Liberia dusts off memories of the tragic civil wars and recent Ebola epidemic that ravaged the country and emerge as the 163rd country to join the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The WTO deals with the global rules of trade between nations and its main function is to ensure that trade flows as smoothly, predictably and freely as possible. Liberia's accession to WTO is expected to greatly benefit small businesses and consumers, improve economic growth, reduce trade barriers, lower the costs of imports, and improve private sector investment.

Liberians will also celebrate their independence day with Excel Magazine International and TeKay Designs in a special Washington DC fashion show with awards ceremony to benefit KDE Disability Africa Foundation (a 501C3 non-profit organization based in Texas) on July 31, 2016.
