State Bar of Nevada's Young Lawyers Section Names Snell & Wilmer's Karl Riley to Executive Council

LAS VEGAS - July 13, 2016 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Karl Riley, an attorney in the firm's Las Vegas office, was appointed to the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) (https://www.nvbar.org/member-services-3895/sections/young-lawyers-section/) of the State Bar of Nevada at its 2016 annual meeting in Waikola, Hawaii. He will be one of YLS' Southern Nevada representatives.

The purpose of the YLS is to provide opportunities for the assimilation of young lawyers into the profession as well as a training ground for future leaders of the bar. YLS membership is open to all attorneys who have been admitted in Nevada for less than five years, or are 36 years old or younger. From mentor programs, to organizing charity events, to networking, to fighting to improve the image of attorneys in general, YLS has a wide array of activities.

"It is an honor to join the YLS' Executive Council," said Riley. "The YLS provides many wonderful resources and activities for new attorneys beginning their practice. I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to help promote these activities to new lawyers in our community, especially in Las Vegas."

Riley is involved in several bar organizations, including currently serving as President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association, the Immediate Past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division for the National Bar Association, and sitting on the National Advisory Board of the National Black Law Student Association. Active in the community, he is a board member of the Urban Chamber of Commerce and is a previous board member of the Las Vegas Alumni Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Riley's practice is concentrated in business and commercial litigation, labor and employment, and government relations. He represents the firm's clients in various contract disputes, particularly in banking, real estate, entity control, business conflicts and a variety of financial issues. He also defends the firm's clients in discrimination and harassment claims under Title VII and state law, as well as in wage and hour disputes. In addition, he is also a member of the firm's Attorney Development and Diversity & Inclusion Committees.He received his B.S. from Washington University and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
