Autobahn Country Club selects RaceAmerica Digital Safety Flags

SAN JOSE, Calif. - July 13, 2016 - PRLog -- RaceAmerica and Autobahn Country Club have partnered to bring state of the art track safety technology to America's Premier Motorsports Club.

Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois will install RaceAmerica's unique LED Digital Safety Flags on both the North and South Tracks. When combined, these two tracks create the fourth longest racing venue in the United States. Autobahn's two tracks can operate independently, or can be combined to operate as a single track.

17 Digital Safety Flags will be placed on key corners throughout the tracks, activated by hand controllers that can send flag signals to the digital display boards while notifying race control at the same time. Race control can also send flag signals to any one of the digital display boards.

It enhances the effectiveness of the corner workers and provides another layer of safety for our members out on track. It won't replace the corner workers, but enables instant two-way electronic communications between race control and the corner workers which makes it safer out on track," said Kevin Rodgers, General Manager at Autobahn Country Club.

Member driven, member supported, member funded
Through a unique arrangement with their members, Autobahn was able to accomplish its digital safety flag objective by enlisting Autobahn members to sponsor display boards at individual corners. The number of sponsorships is indicative of the Autobahn Members' commitment to track safety.

RaceAmerica's Race Management software, combined with the Digital Safety Flags provides a real time log of flag status during the race. Data is available for review anytime and the software can record when and where flags are thrown up during a race, providing marshals with easy access to information.

RaceAmerica Digital Safety Flags comply with FIA rules and regulations, providing a full digital image of racing flags on a 31" x 31" video display. For drivers, flags are viewable at greater distances and are more visible than traditional fabric flags under varying weather and lighting conditions. They are ideal for endurance racing.

For race officials, advanced track safety software provides flag status continuously displayed on an image of the racetrack in real time. Multiple configurations of course designs and flag settings can be saved for use during different events.
