CMT Artist Ashley Wineland Set to Make a Splash at SeaWorld!

PHOENIX - July 13, 2016 - PRLog -- It has been announced by her management that Official CMT artist Ashley Wineland will be the special guest of SeaWorld San Diego and will be provided a private tour of the facility--that will include her interacting with both staff and many of the animals residing at the popular theme park. There is also a live broadcast planned on the SeaWorld Facebook page that will chronical Ms. Wineland's visit there.

Ms. Wineland, an avid animal lover, will be visiting the park on July 18, 2016. Her passion for animals is well-documented, as she has aligned herself with numerous charitable organizations that represent various causes related to animals and their welfare. These include Fallen Feathers--an exotic bird rescue and rehabilitation center, PMU Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation—which saves mares from Premarin drug facilities and trains them for adoption and additionally, Valley Dogs and Halo—which works with Petsmart Charities towards putting pets into new homes.

According to Ms. Wineland, "Personally, if I didn't have such a strong love for music, I would be working in a field that allowed me to help animals on a daily basis. Before I found music, I had always wanted to be a veterinarian for both domestic and exotic animals. Being able to continue pursuing that love for animals is the reason why I work with so many animal welfare organizations today. I also enjoy being able to use my musical platform as a way spreading the message as to what these groups are doing and why their work is so important."

She continues, "Being able to go to SeaWorld and learning more about their rescue/rehabilitation and veterinary clinics is something very special to me in more ways than just having the experience. Getting the opportunity to explore and be with other people who are a part of a community that cares deeply for the welfare of all creatures is an honor. I hope that through this visit we can educate the public about the wonderful creatures SeaWorld helps on a daily basis, the risks they face in the wild and how we as a community can help them no matter where we are in the world."

Ms. Wineland's visit will include a behind the scenes look at the Animal Rescue/Rehab Center as well as the onsite veterinary hospital--where she'll be able to talk to the rescue team to learn firsthand the commitment and passion they have to giving these animals a second chance at life. So far this year, SeaWorld has rescued or come to the aid of more than 410 marine mammals, as well as a couple of hundred marine birds and some sea turtles. Over the past 50 years, all of the SeaWorld parks combined have come to the aid of more than 28,000 ill, injured and stranded marine animals.

"We're very excited to have Ashley visit us at SeaWorld and see firsthand the incredible passion we have for the animals in our care," said Jody Westberg, the stranded animal coordinator for SeaWorld San Diego.  "I'm proud to a member of a team that is dedicated to the health and welfare of all animals and we're thrilled to have the chance to share SeaWorld's story of caring for animals with Ashley."

Ms. Wineland will also have the opportunity to receive some up-close encounters with various marine animals, to not only learn about the animals, but also to understand the challenges that some of these species are facing in the wild and what SeaWorld is doing--either through the support of worldwide conservation and research efforts or animal rescue--to help those species.
