Designed by award-winning Boston design firm Hark + Osborne, each detail rings true to that of a Parisian bistro within the heart of the South End, including arelocated 11 seat poured pewter bar, French oak paneling, custom-designed antique brass lighting, designer-curated art, a 20-person private dining space, re-finished flooring along with classic hex tiling, and for those in the know, a second bathroom. Additionally, a proposed 14-seat outdoor patio is in the works to bring the true Parisian experience full circle. The goal was to breathe fresh life into an already pulsing location. From a culinary standpoint, owner and founder Seth Woods along with Chef de Cuisine Bob Krajewski are staying true to what put Aquitaine on the map, using fresh, local ingredients to updated favorites that includeCoq au Vin, crispy pousin, wine braised leg, bacon lardons, mushrooms and pearl onions, Duck a L'Orange with cauliflower mousseline, Swiss chard and sauce bigarade, Foie Gras Torchon, sliced and shaved with roasted pears, sultana confiture and brioche croutons, and of course the Aquitaine staple, Steak Frites with perigourd black truffle vinaigrette, natural pan drippings and watercress shallot salade.
