Introducing EMJ Neurology 4.1!

CHELMSFORD, U.K. - July 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Welcome to EMJ Neurology 4.1, an edition filled with informative and engaging content which spotlights the latest research and developments in the field of neurology. Leading the journal is an in-depth review of one of the most important events on the neurology calendar, the 2nd Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from May 28th-31st 2016. The journal then presents a selection of peer-reviewed articles that offer significant contributions to the advancement of understanding in neurological disease and provides a perfect springboard for discussion.

The EAN congress hosted discussions on many important topics for neurology, including the need for new and more effective treatments towards managing the symptomatic heterogeneity of Tourette's syndrome. The impact of bilingualism on the cognitive functions of people faced with brain disease at different ages was also explored. The abstract reviews included in the journal are a chance to further investigate these ideas and the many others presented at the congress. Other important news stories from congress are also covered, including an appeal for standardised guidelines across Europe for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease following concerns for the safety and the quality of care given.

The peer-reviewed articles chosen for this issue of EMJ Neurology present valuable insights into the treatment of neurological diseases and disorders, as well as explorations of the challenges currently faced. The pervasiveness of apathy in patients with Parkinson's disease is one such example, with the detection and treatment of this motivation deficit being sorely needed to combat its negative impact on quality of life and prognosis. The articles section also features investigations into the prominent issue of personalised treatment strategies when dealing with multiple sclerosis, and advances in the management of transient ischaemic attack and stroke. It is hoped that EMJ Neurology 4.1 will prove to be both another engaging and informative edition and that it encourages readers to continue exploring the high-quality content offered across the EMJ journals. Zoƫ Webster, Head of Publishing at EMJ said: "This has been another proud effort from the EMJ team and the many contributors who have provided the journal with all of its high-quality content. We look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on this latest edition of EMJ Neurology."
