The Holy Month's CSR activity distributed almost 6,000 meals

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 2016 - Marka, the first public stock retail operator in the UAE, today announced details of its joint CSR activity with Reem Al Bawadi restaurant.

The recent successful Ramadan initiative was developed by Marka and facilitated through its restaurant chain Reem Al Bawadi to help feed labourers around Dubai during the holy month of Ramadan. Almost 6,000 meals were distributed throughout Ramadan by both Marka and Reem Al Bawadi's staff. An extensive social media campaign created buzz, with a number of participants tweeting with the hashtag #ReemGivesBack.

Guests who dined in Reem Al Bawadi during Ramadan were invited to donate 10 AED or more with their meal. All the proceeds from donations was to feed workers in labour camps, with Reem Al Bawadi organizing and facilitating the meal distribution. The main area supported by the initiative was Muhaisna labour camp, considered one of the Emirate's poorest.
