UPES Conducts B.Tech Centralized Counselling

DEHRADUN, India - July 8, 2016 - PRLog -- University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) conducts yet another session of its centralized counselling for its B. Tech. students in New Delhi. The university has organised a second sitting of its online counselling at the already chosen venue - Air Force Auditorium in Dhaula Kuan. Simultaneously, there were two ongoing sessions of the event in a day being from morning till the afternoon. The sittings followed one after the other in the day time of the first week of July after a first session that took place in the June end.

The Process of Availability and Allotment

The whole process begins with reporting and the documents are verified where an applicant registers his or her presence in the attendance section and keeps up with all procedures. Here, applicants are needed to fill the necessary information about their programme of choice after taking the seat availability for various subjects into account when allotments are done. Post the mark of attendance and verification of documents, applicants proceed to the designated waiting area which follows an orientation for the UPES B. Tech. programme.

Afterwards, announcements are made for the counselling batches. The sessions conclude with an automated real-time computerised availability of seats and allotment display. The main highlights at these counselling sessions are audio-visual presentations about various sectors, faculty presentations leading to a question and answer session and meet with the IBM executives.

Selection Basis

Also, what students can look for at such orientations is the systematic and transparent selection process as well as the branch allotments that are shown live on the screen. The aspirants are invited for counselling based upon their selection made on the scores of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) mains, UPESEAT and board merit. UPESEAT is the engineering aptitude test conducted internally by this university to draw students directly from the science stream of higher secondary school level.

Though, a good JEE score would also do while opting for engineering as a career. A third criteria of board merit has been created to facilitate learning for students who are not able to make it through the JEE marks and UPESEAT.
