Follow on Google News | Lee Canyon Hosts Birdies & Beers Disc Golf and Beer Festival Saturday, July 23, 2016By: Lee Canyon Those not competing can purchase a pass for to the beer garden for $20 and enjoy a selection of craft beers while listening to performances by local musical group Stoked. Disc golf players who are 21 receive a stainless steel souvenir cup and four complimentary beer tastings on the course. Participants can use their disc golf equipment or rent equipment from Lee Canyon Sports in the base lodge. Rental packages include one driver, one putter, a course map, and a chairlift ticket. During the summer season, players can hike or ride the chairlift to the top of the course, which is 9,300 feet in elevation, and then walk through the resort's mountain terrain to each hole. Disc golf rental packages are $19 for adults and $14 for children 12 years old and younger. Disc golf season passes can be purchased at $50 per pass and are non-transferable. The course is open through Labor Day weekend/ Birdies & Beers Itinerary 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All divisions tee off in groups of four 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beer garden 3 p.m. Musical performance and awards ceremony on the patio of the base lodge "Birdies & Beers is a favorite summertime event at Lee Canyon. As the sport continues to grow we see the local disc golf community grow as well," said Jim Seely, Lee Canyon's marketing director. "Much like our winter events, our summer programming is intended to bring people together so that we can cultivate an active mountain family community." Lee Canyon's high-altitude disc golf course was named the No. 1 disc golf course in Las Vegas. The course starts players at 9,400 feet above sea level and takes them through the resort's mountainous terrain as they play through. Lee Canyon's summer hours are Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including holidays. Scenic chairlift ride tickets are available at Lee Canyon Sports and are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 years old and younger. 2016/17 winter pass holders can take advantage of their complimentary scenic chairlift ride once per day. Guests can also enjoy lunch or drinks on The Bristlecone Bar & Grill patio. The resort will close for the summer season on September 5, 2016, Labor Day, weather permitting.
