WASHINGTON - July 7, 2016 - PRLog -- The purpose of the xPress Roster API is to allow for easy connections for applications to student/class roster information.  An example of this would be a teacher requiring student roster information on their tablet application - with a click of a button that information should populate the application with information from a SIS or data warehouse - in real time if needed!  Over two dozen vendors have agreed to develop to the xPress Roster API with 2 states (New York and West Virginia) now in statewide development of its usage.

The API has been designed to be:
• Simple: Defined paths deliver related data easily and dependably.
• Secure: Internet grade encryption and a popular authentication standard ensure ready access that is also secure.
• Scalable: By supporting two different data formats, more systems can easily interoperate.
• Standard: with enhanced features to move more than one record at a time, in near real time if desired, ensuring reduced overheads and increased scalability.

"It is very exciting to have a simple API that allows for both provisioning of back end systems and gets people started on mobile solutions.  For me, what differentiates xPress is how it fits into A4L's larger standards, enabling growth without needing to revisit the drawing board" states A4L Technology Director, John W. Lovell.

Responding to the demands of our Members, this latest certification release offers benefits to both software providers and end-users by providing a verification process and quality assurance. The SIF Certification Program was established to empower end users in selecting best-of-breed products, guaranteeing that every SIF Certified product offers a quality standard of interoperability.
