Follow on Google News | The We Promise Foundation Tees Up to Raise $53,000 for Children Battling Life-Threatening IllnessesBy: We Promise Foundation Joining the foundation for the tournament were a full flight of We Promise golfers, who had a chance to tee off at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Course - a 7,714 yard course that covers more than 200 acres of land, making it the largest course in Utah. Joining the tournament golfers at course were 10 We Promise children who arrived by limousine and received cheers and high-fives from We Promise board members and volunteers as they traveled across a red carpet rolled out just for them. The beneficiaries were thrilled to have the opportunity to cruise around the course on golf carts - learning from tournament participants how to hold an iron and sink a putt. "We are immensely grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, the kindness of our volunteers, and the support of so many who either attended our events or kindly donated items for charitable auction," said Phil Richards, chairman of the We Promise Foundation. "It is only thanks to their tremendous contributions that we are able to give courageous children a dose of healing and hope through the gift of a dream fulfilled." All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit children in Utah. Since launching the foundation, Chartway FCU's We Promise Foundation has raised more than $8,000,000 to make dreams come true for children fighting life-threatening illnesses.
