Tree Planting For Customers Takes Root In Manchester

CAERPHILLY, Wales - July 6, 2016 - PRLog -- PHS Data Solutions, a leading provider of document scanning, records management and confidential document destruction, funded the planting of 100 trees for customers as part of its World Paper Free pledge last autumn, whereby 100 customers signed up to show their support for the program.

Neighbourhoods with trees see improved property values and environmental benefits. At PHS we were thrilled with the positive response we've received from our customers to our tree planting campaign. Whether they care about conserving natural resources or planting trees in local communities, we enjoyed offering our customers a simple way to make a difference."

In March, PHS employees joined customers from both Manchester and across the UK to plant the 100 trees around the woodlands of Salford. A volunteer from Prometric, a trusted provider of market leading test development and delivery solutions, was amongst the customers taking part on the day, armed with a shovel and a pair of sturdy boots.

Michael Forrest, Warehouse Manager, Prometric, said, "It was nice for Prometric to be invited by PHS and have the chance to place something back into our local community."

Red Rose Forest is part of a new movement - Manchester City of Trees. Spearheaded by a number of committed partners it aims to plant three million trees in the next two decades. Beth Kelsall, from Red Rose Forest comments: "This initiative demonstrates that everyone can do their bit for planting more trees and we hope that the example set by PHS will inspire the people of Greater Manchester to contribute to the vision of planting a tree for every man, woman and child across the region."
