Dates Announced For Leavenworth Sustainable Living & Farming Tour

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. - July 1, 2016 - PRLog -- --  September 10^th and 11^th are the dates set for the third annual Leavenworth Sustainable Living & Farming Tour. The event is highly unique, as is the setting in which it is held.

Leavenworth is host to many things that draw millions of visitors a year, but the Sustainable Living & Farming Tour is set apart from the others. The Tour is indeed more than a tour. It features three components, each designed to help people lead simpler, more sustainable lives.

The Tour itself will allow guests to visit numerous sites and talk with their hosts about such wide-ranging topics as straw bale housing, residential solar electric systems, beekeeping, dairy goats, and organic gardening and farming.

There will be numerous Workshops held both days of the event on practical topics including food fermentation, container vegetable gardening, building healthy soils, raising chickens, composting, and more.

MarketPlace is a street-fair-like gathering of local vendors and purveyors of sustainability-related goods and services.

With so much going on during the weekend, guests are encouraged to attend both days. Hotel rooms fill up quickly in Leavenworth so early reservations are advised.

As with past Tours, all proceeds will go to local non-profit Wenatchee River Institute. WRI connects people, communities, and the natural world.
