Follow on Google News | The Real Winner of the 2016 Colorado Primary is James WoodleyBy: James Woodley for Colorado State Senate But the big winner of the 2016 Colorado primary is James Woodley for State Senate (https://www.facebook.com/ Woodley may have received only 5,577 votes to his opponent's, incumbent Senator Nancy Todd's, 6,121 votes, but it represents a larger following of the Republican base supporting Woodley than the Democrat's base supporting Todd. The facts are 25% of registered Republican's in Colorado State Senate district 28 voted for Woodley, while only 21% of the Democrat base supports Todd. Todd's results were also 3 points below Arapahoe County's voter turnout and 6 points below the State's turnout. Woodley's results are even more impressive considering there are over 6,000 more registered Democrats for Todd to pull from than there are Republican's. A large part of Woodley's success comes from the strong grassroots campaign he is running. Woodley, a US Army veteran, former Marketing executive, former non-profit executive, and currently serving the community by ministering to those in need, understands the struggles the people of Aurora, Colorado (https://www.facebook.com/ Woodley has been busy personally attending civic organization's meetings, knocking on doors, making phone calls, and using social media to connect with the people of district 28. He's getting the reputation of the hardest working candidate on the campaign trail, and one of the most dynamic to listen to. He listens to the stories of hardship that the people of Aurora are going through due to the many failed laws, high taxes and fees, and regulations passed by the democrats and supported by Todd in the past 12 years. One thing is clear, the people are hungry for change and this is the race to watch in the 2016 election. But it may be decided by the 28,000 unaffiliated voters who ultimately must ask themselves, are they better off today than when Todd was first elected to the State House in 2005, or is it time to let Woodley lead.
