The Real Winner of the 2016 Colorado Primary is James Woodley

By: James Woodley for Colorado State Senate

AURORA, Colo. - June 30, 2016 - PRLog -- The results are in for Colorado's 2016 Primary race. The race being covered the most is the Republican's US Senate primary where 5 candidates fought the good fight to take on Micheal Bennett. Darryl Glenn was victorious.

But the big winner of the 2016 Colorado primary is James Woodley for State Senate (https://www.facebook.com/WoodleyForColorado/) 28. These primary results have been largely overshadowed by the US Senate race mostly because Woodley didn't have a primary runoff last night. But the results were stunning and maybe an insight of what is to come in the general election.

Woodley may have received only 5,577 votes to his opponent's, incumbent Senator Nancy Todd's, 6,121 votes, but it represents a larger following of the Republican base supporting Woodley than the Democrat's base supporting Todd. The facts are 25% of registered Republican's in Colorado State Senate district 28 voted for Woodley, while only 21% of the Democrat base supports Todd. Todd's results were also 3 points below Arapahoe County's voter turnout and 6 points below the State's turnout. Woodley's results are even more impressive considering there are over 6,000 more registered Democrats for Todd to pull from than there are Republican's.

A large part of Woodley's success comes from the strong grassroots campaign he is running. Woodley, a US Army veteran, former Marketing executive, former non-profit executive, and currently serving the community by ministering to those in need, understands the struggles the people of Aurora, Colorado (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Aurora-Colorado/1030990297...) are going through. He is reaching out with a message of hope for a better Aurora and a better Colorado. He's drumming up more and more support with his message of job creation for the near 8% of Aurora residents who are still unemployed; his message of bringing back affordable housing for the thousands of families being forced out of their homes by increasing rents, as well as millennials who are unable to find starter homes, or the retired who are looking to downsize; a message of improving the education system by creating more choices in education so children can have individualized learning to meet their individual needs, raising the bar on education giving children of Colorado the opportunity to succeed and be the best version of themselves. But it begins with changing the current State Senators who represent Aurora at the State capitol.

Woodley has been busy personally attending civic organization's meetings, knocking on doors, making phone calls, and using social media to connect with the people of district 28. He's getting the reputation of the hardest working candidate on the campaign trail, and one of the most dynamic to listen to. He listens to the stories of hardship that the people of Aurora are going through due to the many failed laws, high taxes and fees, and regulations passed by the democrats and supported by Todd in the past 12 years.

One thing is clear, the people are hungry for change and this is the race to watch in the 2016 election. But it may be decided by the 28,000 unaffiliated voters who ultimately must ask themselves, are they better off today than when Todd was first elected to the State House in 2005, or is it time to let Woodley lead.
