Hybrent White Paper Details Benefits of Investing in Front-End Supply Chain Automation

Outlines Automated Solutions Strategies Aimed at Eliminating Paper-Based Processes and Increasing Efficiency

CHICAGO - June 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Hybrent, a company that offers healthcare providers

software that lowers costs while improving supply chain efficiency, has released a new white paper, "Supplying Intelligence: The Back-End (and Bottom Line) Benefits of Investing in Front-End Supply Chain Automation."

"In the current healthcare environment, providing better care at lower cost is a universal goal," said Hybrent CEO Ken Tighe. "Improving efficiency is critically important, particularly where paper-based processes are concerned as they take time and energy away from the primary work of patient health."

The report demonstrates to supply chain leaders at physician offices and surgery centers the benefits of replacing labor-intensive manual systems with automated solutions on the front end, which can save time and money, and also provide intelligence that drive better care.

Case in point: Springhill Surgery Center, a multi-specialty surgical and endoscopic center based in Little Rock, Ark. The center had been using a time-consuming, manual system that kept its practitioners too busy managing costs and ordering supplies to actually see patients.

"When I would get ready to place orders, I'd  have to go to each of four different departmental supply rooms, manually check the number of supplies in inventory and write down what I wanted to order," said Terry Crow, a certified surgical technologist at Springhill. "Then I'd go back to my computer and go into our old system to make purchase orders for each of up to ten different vendor companies. I'd make them out, print them out and then go to each company's website and enter my order there, or call or fax it in. Then I'd have to go through the whole process and paperwork routine in reverse when the orders came in. It became my full-time job."

The white paper describes how Springhill switched to the Hybrent application, which instantly searches all distributors and manufacturers for the optimal price and product availability. According to the white paper, the application allows users to place one order for all medical, surgical, pharmaceutical, and office supplies at the same time.

"Using Hybrent has cut the work I need to do manually to less than half," said Crow.

The application is mobile, allowing users to order and check the status of supplies without being tied to a desktop computer. The white paper also details how Hybrent technology delivers data that enables better business decisions, providing access to previously unavailable metrics like the true profitability of each surgeon's preference card selections.
