MCALLEN, Texas - June 28, 2016 - PRLog -- Brenda Gomez Resources, the Texas-based insurance firm, raises $500 during her charity program with the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley in an effort to provide for underprivileged families in the region.

According to feeding America, the state of Texas has one of the highest rates of child food insecurity with more than 1.8 million children not knowing if they will have their next meal.

This Summer, The Food Bank along with Brenda Gomez Resources are participating in a worthy initiative called the Hunger-Free Summer Challenge to help food banks across the country feed 10,000 children. Every $1 donated to the Food Bank provides 5 nutritious meals for the families of the Rio Grande Valley.

The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley serves as a point to provide resources to smaller food pantry programs and charitable feeding organizations to provide to these families the meals they need to survive. The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley also supports numerous programs that provide food to needy children, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Ronald McDonald House, and more.

"The Rio Grande Food Bank has worked with many other local charities for a generation to consistently provide for underprivileged families all over southern Texas," explains Brenda Gomez, founder, and director of Brenda Gomez Resources.

Gomez and her team are working hard to create awareness about this critical problem that is occurring in Texas. As an effort, the team is producing a full page feature article about the Food Bank of Rio Grande Valley and the agency's initiative in "Our Hometown Magazine," which is provided to their customers every month on the firm's webzine: http://www.gomezresources.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_39.

More importantly, through their recently launched Rewards Program, the agency is able to donate $10 to The Food Bank of Rio Grande Valley on their customers' behalf, for every person that receives a non-obligation quote.
