Tennessee Kidney Foundation Raises $93,575 to Support Patients Affected by Kidney Disease

New CEO Heather Powell says funds raised will help TKF assist hundreds more patients this year through assistance programs and education about prevention of kidney disease.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - June 28, 2016 - PRLog -- Golfers at the Tennessee Kidney Foundation's (TKF) Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational Charity Golf Tournament played to support the thousands of individuals affected by kidney disease in Tennessee. More than $93,575 was raised through the tournament, enabling the TKF to serve hundreds more kidney patients this year.

Held at the esteemed Governor's Club of Tennessee in Brentwood, the tournament featured two shotgun starts and was a tremendous success thanks to the hard work and leadership of co-chairmen Bill Wood (of Dialysis Clinic, Inc.) and Jim Biagini (of Deloitte).

Thanks to a partnership with Liberty Mutual, the TKF is able to provide golfer gifts and other unique prizes at no cost, allowing proceeds to directly serve Tennesseans with kidney disease who need it most. One of the most unique prizes is offered to the first place team: invitations to compete in the Liberty Mutual Invitational at TPC Sawgrass in March 2017.

The Liberty Mutual Invitational raises money to support programs run by the TKF which improve the health and well-being of Tennesseans affected by kidney disease through education, prevention, treatment, advocacy and promotion of organ donation.

"The Tennessee Kidney Foundation provides resources and a support system for individuals affected by kidney disease who are going through challenging times," said CEO Heather Powell. "The Liberty Mutual Invitational allows us to share our mission with members of the business community in a fun setting while keeping in mind our vision of giving people affected by kidney disease the best quality of life possible."
